As the final Sage Intacct release of 2026, R4 introduces a range of new features and enhancements. The RKL consulting team is pleased to highlight the release’s new tools, AI-powered automation, and Early Adopter options available upon request. More details are outlined below.
Finance Intelligence Agent -General availability: The Finance Intelligence Agent, powered by Sage AI, makes it easier to turn financial data into meaningful insights. Through Sage Copilot, you can ask questions in everyday language, quickly access relevant information, and make more informed business decisions.
Split multi-page documents into individual transactions with AP Automation - Early Adopter: Upload a document with multiple transactions, and AP Automation will automatically separate it into individual transactions for streamlined processing. View how it works.
Log in faster and more securely with passkeys: Eligible users can sign in without a password using passkey authentication. Because passkeys rely on cryptographic credentials securely stored on a trusted device, they offer stronger protection against phishing attempts and stolen login credentials.
Email sender allow list enforcement: Once enforcement begins, only approved company email addresses can be used as sender or reply-to addresses, helping prevent email spoofing.
Review license usage by user type: Administrators can view current user activity alongside licensed limits in one place, making it easier to manage subscriptions and prevent unexpected costs.
Reimburse employee expenses through Accounts Payable or payroll: Sage Intacct now supports employee expense reimbursements through Accounts Payable or an external payroll provider. This added flexibility helps align reimbursements with your existing payment workflows while improving oversight of expense payments.
Split multi-page documents into individual transactions with AP Automation - Early Adopter: Upload a document that includes multiple transactions, and AP Automation can automatically break it into individual transactions for processing.
Bank files to replace Standard ACH: Standard ACH payments will be retired in a 2027 release. To ensure uninterrupted ACH processing, update your company, vendor, and bank account settings to use bank file payments.
Custom approvals for invoices - Early Adopter: Use the centralized Custom approvals application to create and manage invoice approval workflows. Set rules based on invoice data and business criteria, route invoices to approvers, and review approval history. View the many benefits.
Customer Payments powered by Fortis - General availability: Improve cash flow with self-service invoice payments. Customers can pay by card or ACH, make partial or scheduled payments, save payment methods for future use, and receive refunds directly through Accounts Receivable. See how it works.
Use inter-entity bill back with entity transactions: Inter-entity bill back streamlines transactions between entities within the same organization. When one entity provides goods or services to another, the receiving entity automatically receives a bill for processing and payment.
Upload bank file payments to cloud storage: Send payment files directly to your cloud storage through a secure connection, eliminating manual downloads and speeding up file delivery.
Enter account number using letters and numbers: Include letters as well as numbers in the account number of a bank account (now for all account currencies).
Revert asset splits: Quickly reverse asset splits created by mistake without manual adjustments or workarounds. The reversal removes the split assets and returns the original asset to its pre-split state.
Reverse asset transfers: Reverse asset transfers to restore previous dimensions and correct errors. The original transfer and accounting activity remain intact, while an offsetting journal entry documents the correction.
Updates to GL account reconciliations: Enhanced GL account reconciliations make it easier to match transactions and track reconciliation timing. View what's changed.
Custom approvals for Order Entry transactions - Early Adopter: Use the centralized Custom approvals application to build and manage transaction approval workflows. Set rules based on transaction details and business criteria, automatically route approvals, and review approval history.
Variable-quantity and tiered billing for billing groups: Improve billing accuracy by invoicing customers based on actual activity, such as transactions, hours, or units. Quantity entries capture billable details for sales invoices generated through billing groups. See how it works.
Apply flexible pricing to billing groups with OE price lists: Use an Order Entry price list to automatically calculate billing group charges rather than entering prices manually. For more complex pricing, configure tiered rates based on total quantities, progressive tiers, or fixed tiers.
A NEW way to combine multiple documents into a single transaction: During conversion, you can consolidate multiple documents or selected line items into one transaction to streamline your workflow.
Post multiple draft transactions at once: Enable enhanced lists to post transactions in bulk, saving time and reducing manual work.
Transaction allocations for VAT and GST in Accounts Payable - Early Adopter: Allocate AP bill amounts across dimensions using percentage-based allocations, even when VAT or GST applies. This reduces manual effort while maintaining accurate tax calculations and allocation details for reporting and audits. See it in action.
Exemption certificate management with Avalara Tax - General availability: Verify customer exemption status, request missing certificates, and maintain audit readiness—all without leaving the system. This integration reduces billing delays, improves accuracy, and streamlines exemption management.
Avalara use tax in Purchasing - General availability: AvaTax subscribers can now apply use tax to Purchasing transactions. Enable Avalara use tax to apply it separately or offset sales tax on out-of-state purchases where only partial tax was paid.
Adjust employee reimbursements using AP bills or payroll: Expense adjustments now follow your selected employee reimbursement method, helping ensure accurate accounting.
Manage employee advances using expense types: When reimbursing employee expenses through Accounts Payable or payroll, use expense types to manage employee advances. This enhancement improves advance tracking, application, and visibility during expense reporting.
Assign delegates to approve timesheets: Assign a delegate to manage timesheet approvals during an approver’s absence. Delegates can approve or decline submitted timesheets, helping keep payroll processing on track.
Manage crew timesheets using Sage Intelligent Time: Sage Intelligent Time lets you create and submit crew timesheets for multiple employees at once. This reduces repetitive entry and supports consistent reporting for teams sharing shifts, tasks, or cost codes. View the benefits.
