Preparing for Windows 10 End of Support: Sage 100 Compatibility Update

Preparing for Windows 10 End of Support: Sage 100 Compatibility Update
2:16

Support for Windows 10 will end on October 14th of this year.

Per the Microsoft support site:

“Windows 10 will reach the end of support on October 14, 2025. At this point, technical assistance, feature updates and security updates will no longer be provided. If you have devices running Windows 10, we recommend upgrading them to Windows 11.”

What Does This Mean for Your Sage 100 Installation?

Is your version of Sage 100 compatible with Windows 11? Do you need to upgrade?

Per the Sage Software Supported Platform Matrix, the earliest version of Sage 100 that supports workstations running on Windows 11 is Sage 100 v2022. This means, anything prior to that is not supported on Windows 11. So, the answer is, YES, you should upgrade if your Sage 100 version is older than v2022.

In addition, Sage Software maintains support for the current version of Sage 100 (v2025) and two previous versions (v2024, v2023). While v2022 will work on a Windows 11 workstation, it is no longer a supported version of Sage 100.

In short, when you are looking to upgrade your Windows operating system, you should also consider upgrading your Sage 100 system to maintain support, ensure the latest protection against security threats, prevent unexpected downtime, and benefit from the latest product enhancements. Keeping your software current significantly reduces your risk of catastrophic system failures from security threats and compatibility conflicts.

Also starting in October,  Sage will block outdated encryption ciphers used by Windows and Windows Server when connecting to Sage licensing servers. Read our blog about this security update to prepare in Sage 100.  >>Sage 100 and Sage 300 Security Update: What You Need to Know and How to Prepare
