Sage Intacct Cloud Financial First Quarter Release - What You Need to Know

With the first release of Sage Intacct Cloud Financial 2017, we’re introduced to a few key enhancements to Sage Intacct that will help your organization automate key financials and operations."Your organization is able to review project billings, manage order entry, and gain more visibility into tasks. Whether you currently use Sage Intacct as your cloud financial solution, or are considering making the transition, there is exciting news in the first release of 2017.

Gain visibility into timesheet dates and notes with Sage Intacct Cloud Financial

If your organization wants to take the next step into a cloud financial automation approach, it needs to reduce inefficiencies. The new release can help you do this by increasing the visibility of transaction dates and notes in Order Entry transaction pages. It is now possible to identify line items by viewing the associated timesheet notes and transaction dates for Order Entry transaction dates. This insight is available whether you’re looking at timesheets, expenses, AP bills, PO vendor invoices, and Sales Orders. This will help take task information to the invoice level so your organization can approve and review invoice line-items, and customers can gain visibility into timesheet notes on their invoice.

Another layer of insight comes from the ability to include the actual billings of a project on custom documents and custom invoices. By using the Word merge tool, you can add the field to increase the visibility for all parties involved. If you have child projects to be billed with the parent, this step will allow both amounts to be viewed on one invoice.

Easily identify Tasks by using the Class field

This is another area where you’ll gain insight with the first update of 2017. Many Sage Intacct users repurpose the class dimension with task, and then auto-populate the Class field with the Task name. It’s a workaround that won’t be needed any longer because the update makes it possible to automatically default the Class information as the Task description.

For example, if you have a Task that is being used as a Class called “Support,” enter a description of “support and assistance.” From there, the custom description will appear in the Name column on the Classes page instead of the as the generic term “task.”

Track changes through Audit Trail

With the new Sage Intacct Cloud Financial update for 2017, there is a visible audit trail from forms and transactions.

With the new Sage Intacct Cloud Financial update for 2017, there is a visible audit trail from forms and transactions. You can use the new before and after field value history in “Audit Trail” and view everything in a custom report. This report shows all of the changes in your organization, and is sortable by user, object, or the time that the change was made. These portions require admin access for an extra measure of security.
